Verified

The Verified check

One simple signal: the owner is behind this profile, and they filled it in. Nothing more, nothing less.

What it takes

Two things, together.

1

The gym is claimed

The owner proved they are the owner: a confirmation link goes to the gym's email address, and from there they take over the profile.

2

The profile has at least 70 points

Every part of the profile is worth points. At 70 points the check appears on its own: there is no request to send and nobody to wait for.

How the points work

The score updates as you fill things in. The checklist in your gym panel tells you what is missing.

The badge arrives at 70 points out of 110. Support staff is a bonus: without it a gym page can still be complete and verified.

What changes once you have it

You're on the front page

Your gym shows in the "Verified gyms" section of the home page.

The check follows you

Next to your name, in the list, on the map and on your own page.

You rank first

Verified gyms are shown before the others in the gym list.

People filter for you

Anyone searching can pick "Verified only" and see profiles like yours.

What it does not mean

Verified does not mean "better gym". We do not judge the teaching, we do not check the head coach’s rank, and we do not guarantee every detail is up to date today. It means one thing: the owner is behind this profile and filled it in. A great gym that has not sorted its profile yet has no check, and that is not a judgement on the gym.

It can also be lost

If the profile drops below 70 points — you remove the photos, delete the only instructor, empty the schedule — the check disappears. It comes back on its own as soon as you go over the threshold again.

How the showcase is ordered

Five things count: how complete your profile is, how many people from your gym are registered on BJJ Square (instructors included), how many instructors have a linked profile, how many belts are confirmed, and how many people checked in over the last three months. A well-filled profile is no longer enough on its own: it is worth less than a third of the score.

Every item is capped — 30 members, 5 instructors, 30 belts, 15 active people — so what gets rewarded is bringing your students in and actually training, not being the biggest gym. Check-ins count people, not visits: someone who comes every day counts as one, like everyone else. The home page and the gym list use the same order.

What about people's belts?

The academy checkmark says nothing about the ranks of those who teach or train there. People have a separate registry with a single rule: the belt is confirmed by the instructor who awarded it, and that instructor teaches at a claimed academy.

Does your gym have it?

Look it up on the map: if it is not claimed yet you will find the button to do it. If you already run it, the checklist in the panel tells you what is missing.
